About John A. Kuri, II
Located in the heart of downtown Riverside, Dr. Kuri is a leader in orthopedic surgery specializing in shoulder & elbow surgery, sports medicine and trauma and is among the best trained and most experienced surgeons in the region. Dr. Kuri and the Riverside Orthopedic Institute team are committed to serving the Inland Empire. His primary goal focuses on restoring his patient’s health back to their normal quality of life through the use of some of the most advanced, cutting-edge technology and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Kuri is Board Certified and fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow surgery and sports medicine with several years of experience practicing as an orthopedic surgeon.
A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington DC, Dr. Kuri then completed his internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center. He completed his shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and his sports medicine fellowship at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Kuri has also worked with professional sports teams including the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and Soul.

He is an innovator when it comes to orthopedic surgery cases for the shoulder and knees and has been a pioneer in several new technologies and procedures. He is passionate about minimally invasive, cutting edge sports medicine cases and working with complex shoulder cases. When it comes to treating patients, informed decision making with a quick recovery and a successful outcome to get them back to their daily routine is his number one priority.
